- On or about 16 May 2005, this office will issue Invitation for Bids for the construction of Outlet Works Conduit Spalling Repair, Cherry Creek Dam, Denver, CO. Bids will be opened on or about 15 June 2005. This solicitation is unrestricted and open to both large and small business participation. Site visits have been established for May 26th and June 2nd at 1:00 P.M. Contractors interested in inspecting the site of the proposed work need to make reservations and obtain meeting location by contacting Roy Ranisate, Chatfield Project Office, 9307 S. The work will include the following: (Approx. quantities) The work covered by this contract will consist of repairing concrete damage in flood tunnels 1, 2 and 3 at Cherry Creek Dam, Denver, Colorado. The work will include saw cutting approximately 300 square feet of damaged concrete and preparation of the existi ng concrete to receive the repair materials, installing dowels and reinforcing steel in the repair areas, applying the repair materials and proper curing of the repair materials. Also, minor deposits (approximately 5 square feet) of hardened concrete/gro ut are in-place on the floor of the downstream reach of Tunnel No.1 and on the floor in Flow Passage No. 1. These deposits will be removed and the tunnel/flow passage floor restored to match the existing lines and grades of the tunnels. The contractor sh all be responsible to have an authorized applicator of the repair materials, approved by the repair materials manufacturer, on-site to direct the material storage, material mixing, material application operations and material curing operations. The work a ssociated with this contract is specialized in nature. Therefore, the contractor performing the repairs should have a minimum of 3 years of experience performing similar repairs. The work covered under this contract will be performed in a confined space. T herefore, the contractor should also have appropriate experience and knowledge in confined space safety procedures. The estimated construction cost of this project is between $100,000 and $250,000. Contractor's Quality Control will be a requirement in this contract. The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and complete the work 90 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work i n the time allowed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. Bonding documents including the power of attorney shall bear an original signature by an officer of the surety. Representations and certifications are required to updated annually as a minimum to keep information current, accurate and complete. The electronic annual representations and certifications are effective until one year from date of submission or u pdate to ORCA. The plans and specifications are available on Compact Disk (CD-ROM) and will be provided free of charge. It has been determined that the number of Compact Disks be limited to one (1) per firm. Plans and Specifications will not be provided in a printed hard copy format.
