Description
NASA/GRC is hereby soliciting information about potential sources. Contact: Bruce Rosenthal, 216-433-5027, or email Bruce.N.Rosenthal@nasa.gov to obtain or provide information about this item. NASA Glenn Research Center would like to lease to own or out right purchase one (1) new or used horizontal cryogenic storage vessel for use with liquid methane. Minimum 10,000 gallon, maximum 15,000 gallon bulk storage capacity required. Tank must meet all applicable federal, state and local codes including NFPA 59A Production Storage and Handling of Liquefied Natural Gas , ASME B31.3 Process Piping, and ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section IX. Internal working pressure shall be at least 40 psig and not more than 100 psig. A pressure building coil shall be integral for maintaining internal operating pressure. The tank must be mounted such that it can be installed on existing concrete base currently used for cryogenic roadable tank trailer parking. Vessel must come with all applicable code stamps, certifications, component information sheets, operation procedures, drawings and schematics. The unit must be capable of being filled by manual operation from a typical LNG transport tractor trailer. Must be structurally designed for seismic zone 3. Delivery must be available before March 2006. No solicitation exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation. If a solicitation is released it will be synopsized in FedBizOpps and on the NASA Acquisition Internet Service. It is the potential offeror?s responsibility to monitor these sites for the release of any solicitation or synopsis. Vendors having the capabilities necessary to meet or exceed the stated requirements are invited to; 1) discuss with and 2) submit appropriate documentation, literature, brochures, and references via mail or email with Mr. Rosenthal. Responses must include the following: name and address of firm, size of business; whether they are large, small, small disadvantaged, 8(a), HUBZone, and/or woman-owned; number of years in business; Technical questions should be directed to: Bruce Rosenthal, 216-433-5027, or email Bruce.N.Rosenthal@nasa.gov. Please advise if the requirement is considered to be a commercial or commercial-type product. A commercial item is defined in FAR 2.101. This synopsis is for information and planning purposes and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government nor will the Government pay for information solicited. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation. Respondents deemed fully qualified will be considered in any resultant solicitation for the requirement. The Government reserves the right to consider a small business or 8(a) set-aside based on responses hereto. All responses shall be submitted to Bruce Rosenthal no later than January 10, 2006.
