- 15 CONS/LGCB is seeking information from industry that will assist in a strategic planning initiative associated with the 15th Air Wing proposal of providing a temporary hanger at Hickam AFB, HI. Specifically, this RFI seeks the following information: Identification of sources and interested parties, to provide a temporary structure by lease, to include installation, and eventual removal at end of lease. Size of structure to be as a minimum, 210 feet by 200 feet with 36 feet high sidewalls. The structure will be used as a hanger for general maintenance of Air Force C-17 Cargo Aircraft. The aircraft as 174 feet long, height at main body is 25 feet and at the tail is 55 feet. The aircraft is 170 feet wide, wing tip to wing tip. It is anticipated the structure would require a steel frame with fabric covering sides and walls. Materials will have to be flame retardant. The structure would be required to meet IBC 2000 building code based on a live load of 12 PSF, basic steady wind speed of 90 mph and a 3 psf collateral load. Material test certificate would be required. The structure would require a hanger door system to be eclectically operated to allow for complete closing of the structure. The structure would also require some system of interior lighting to provide adequate lighting inside. The facility would be placed on a hard concrete surface, properly anchored. Connection to electrical power and other utilities would be provided to the structure by others. Maintenance of the facility to correct any defects in structure or the fabric covering would be required and included in the lease. Normal house- keeping services within the structure would be provided by others. It is anticipated the requirement would be for a three (3) year lease and paid for on a monthly basis. The lease would be required to include all costs to include delivery FOB destination, assembly, and removal. It is anticipated that the structure would have to be delivered and operational within four (4) months after award of a contract.
