Description

SUBJECT: NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE PROCUREMENT DESC: Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, it is the Government's intent to award a sole source to Ventana Medical Systems, Inc., 1910 Innovation Park Drive, Tucson, AZ 85737, for annual mai ntenance service of equipment located at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology. Ventana Medical Systems, Inc., is the original equipment manufacture and the vendor of the Slide Stainer/Staining Module and has proprietary rights on this equipment. This i s NOT a formal solicitation. This symopsis is NOT considered a Request for Quotation or Proposal. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be honored. No contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response t o this notice. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. In no affirmative written response is received, the service will be awarded without further notice. A determinat ion by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
