Description
The Social Security Administration requires the contract services of BC/BE Psychiatrists/Psychologists to serve as a Regional Chief Psychiatric/Psychologist (RCP) Medical consultant to provide leadership and expertise in the review of medical claims under the Disability Program of Titles II and XVI of the Social Security Act. This procurement will be for commercial services prepared in accordance with FAR Part 12 and will be conducted using simplified acquisition procedures in accordance with FAR Part 13. The period of performance shall be from April 1, 2006 , with three one-year options. Services involve the review of medical evidence in disability claims. Performance of services will be in Gvernment space in the Boston area. Some travel may be required and there is not patient contact. A minimum of 15 hours is required per workweek within the 6:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. time frame. The RCP provides leadership, technical direction and guidance to the State Disability Determinatin services and Federal medical consultant staff who work as case reviewers at the Disability Quality Branch/SSA, in addition to doing case development, review and adjudication functions. The RCP assists in identifying psychiatric/psychological medical policy issues and trends and in training disability personnel at both the Federal and State level. Competitive pricing will be solicted and accepted. RFQ is scheduled to be released on or about January 18, 2006 with quotes due February 18, 2006. No telephone requests for the RFQ will be honored and no paper copies will be available. This requirement is a 100% small business set-aside.
