Description
The United States Postal Service is seeking information from suppliers that can implement and manage a total solid waste management solution (TSWMS) for various postal facilities in following states: AR, AZ, CA, CO, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, LA, MI, MN, MO, MT, NB, ND, NM, NV, OK, OR, SD, TX, UT, WA, WI and WY. Suppliers interested and capable of proactively implementing and managing a Total Solid Waste Management Solution (TSWMS) should address the factors listed below. Responses to this RFI are due by no later than April 8th, 2005. Under the TSWMS concept, one supplier proactively manages the entire waste stream (recycling and trash) at each postal facility. Note: Two primary paper types generated by the United States Postal Service are undeliverable standard mail (USM) and old corrugated cardboard (OCC). Other recyclable materials include shrink wrap, plastic, wood pallets, and metal. Interested suppliers should address the following factors: - Analyze the entire waste stream at each postal facility - Identify materials currently in the waste stream and divert such materials into the recycling stream - Set up, and train USPS personnel in, new processes and procedures developed onsite by the supplier that maximize recycling volumes and revenue - Minimize solid waste removal costs through right-sizing/right-servicing - Manage recycling and trash hauling subcontractors. - Provide clear and concise monthly management reports electronically to SFPSC Supply Management personnel - Provide a 24-hour, toll-free customer service support phone number - Provide an online website, through which USPS personnel can access and download monthly tonnage/revenue/cost reports - Provide recommended sources for recyclable materials not currently recycled. Response Process: The response process is as follows: Interested suppliers should provide detailed information about their ability to perform as described above. Suppliers should identify if they are able to provide service to all states listed above and, if not, supplier should identify the segments of the states in which they are interested. Responses to this RFI are due April 8th, 2005. NOTE: THIS NOTICE MAY HAVE POSTED ON FEDBIZOPPS ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (15-MAR-2005). IT ACTUALLY APPEARED OR REAPPEARED ON THE FEDBIZOPPS SYSTEM ON 09-JAN-2006, BUT REAPPEARED IN THE FTP FEED FOR THIS POSTING DATE. PLEASE CONTACT fbo.support@gsa.gov REGARDING THIS ISSUE.
