Description: Cushman Rollerchop: Furnish all labor, supervision, transportation and incidentals to rollerchop and seed 405 acres of previously chained pinyon and juniper woodland and mixed ponderosa pine/mountain shrub. The objective is to create a mosaic of treated and untreated vegetation within the two units. Roller chopping will concentrate on the patches of dead standing trees and dense patches of P/J and brush. The existing large-diameter ponderosa pine and some of the mature pinyon and juniper trees will be left on the site.The treatment units will also be seeded at the rate of 10 lbs per acre concurrently with roller chopping. The Forest Service will furnish all seed for this project. The Contractor must furnish the seeder. A government-owned roller chopper is available for use from the Forest Service.
