Description

The National Institute on Aging, IRP, intends to negotiate and award a purchase order on a noncompetitive basis with the University of Maryland, Department of Animal and Avian Sciences, College Park, MD 20742 for project entitled "The Triple Transgenic Mouse Model for Neuroendocrine Studies of Neurodegenerative Disease". University of Maryland is the only source in our area which has the knowledge and experience with the breeding, husbandry and hormonal experimentation of laboratory mice. The North American Industry Classification (NAICS) code is 541990 and the size standard is 500 employees. This acquisition is being conducted under Simplified Acquisition procedures and is exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6, Competition Requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this synopsis. The determination by the government not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the government.
