Description

The Architect/Engineer (A/E) shall provide professional technical services for the complete design for Project No. 521-06-106, Replace Elevators, P1-P4. Required documents typically include schematics preliminary plans, working drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and construction documents (final drawings, specifications, and cost estimate). The intent of this project is to replace four (4) existing passenger elevators. The work shall include new cabs, controllers, hoistway rails and cables, traveling cables, and other associated parts or systems for complete and safety operation in accordance with elevator code(s). Work may include, but is not limited to, architectural, structural, electrical, HVAC, and fire protection. The A/E shall prepare all documents for this project from interaction and planning with the VA Engineering Service staff, as well as in accordance with the attached concept drawings. This announcement is restricted to 8(a) Competition. The A/E firm will be evaluated with the following criteria: (1) Professional Qualifications necessary for satisfactory performance of required services, (2) Specific Experience and Technical competence in the type of work required (3) Capacity to accomplish the work in the required time, (4) Past Record of Performance on Contracts with Government Agencies. (5) Location in the general geographic area of the project and knowledge of the locality of the project. The estimated cost of this project is between $100,000.00 and $250,000.00. The NAICS Code for this procurement is 54131 and 54133. A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL WILL BE ISSUED ON OR ABOUT JANUARY 25, 2006.
