- Description
- The US Army ARDEC-Picatinny Arsenal, NJ seeks to procure a tactical tripod kit to support the Leupold® Mark 4® 12-40x60mm Tactical Spotting Scope with MIL Dot Reticule (Part # 53756), as currently used by US Army snipers. The kit includes a tactical tripod assembly, soft carrying case, and hard transportation/storage case. The tactical tripod will be a lightweight and rugged support structure to provide for quick release of the spotting scope via a detachable plate. It will be adjustable in height from prone to sitting position, and will feature course/fine adjustment in both azimuth and elevation. The tripod will also support the spotting scope in night vision configuration (NVC). The NVC consists of an AN/PVS-14 Monocular Night Vision Device (manufactured by Northrop Grumman) attached to the spotting scope’s eyepiece via Monoloc® (manufactured by Tactical Solutions). The soft carrying case will store and protect the spotting scope, anti-reflection device (ARD), laser filter unit (LFU), Monoloc®, and tripod assembly; it must comply with various environmental constraints to include resistance to tear and fungal growth. The hard transportation/storage case will hold the soft carrying case with its designated contents; it must feature a pressure relief valve and retain a watertight seal when submerged under water. All requirements of the Tactical Tripod Kit must be met as specified by the technical data package (TDP). The TDP contains a top drawing and three (3) major drawings noting requirements 13010594 Transportation Carrying Case, 13010595 Soft Carrying Case, and 13010596 Tactical Tripod. A firm fixed price contract with four (4) years of options will be exercised in this solicitation. RDT&E funds have been initially included in this procurement with initial quantity requirements of 30 kits; no FAT is required for this quantity.
