Description

On behalf of the Department of the Army Community and Family Support Center and in accordance with FAR 6.3, the Contracting Center of Excellence (CCE) intends to execute a commercial contract under other than full and open competition on a sole sourc e basis to DefenseWeb Technologies Inc. (DefenseWeb), a small business. The Government requires this task order provides for on-going support and maintenance of the existing Army Virtual Family Readiness Group (vFRG) web system. The objective of the vFRG system is to provide all of the functionality of traditional FRGs in an ad-hoc and online setting. The vFRG system supports online FRGs at the Brigade, Battalion, and Company levels. The vFRG system may correspond logically to an existing, traditional FR G, but also supports the creation of ad-hoc FRGs due to the dispersion of family members and volunteer FRG leaders across the US and the world, with no unit-integrity of those families. Furthermore, the vFRG system provides support not only to the spouses , families, and parents of married soldiers, but shall also be able to include support for parents, families and significant others of single soldiers. The Government intends to continue DefenseWebs ongoing effort from a previously expired contract. The Government anticipates a full and open competition award for future fulfillment of this requirement. This notice is valid until 25 January 2006 and is NOT a request for proposals. Performance period is twelve months from the contract award date. This announcement is for informational purposes only. No RFP will be available for competitive proposals. The Government shall not be liable for, or suffer any consequential damages for any technical information provided. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
