Description
REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) SOURCES SOUGHT FOR VEHICLE INTERCOM SYSTEM (VIS) 1. Project Manager, Defense Communications and Army Transmission Systems (PM DCATS), Fort Monmouth, NJ is seeking product demonstrations for Vehicle Intercom Systems (VIS) from experienced providers of tactical vehicle intercom systems and associated suppo rt services. The Government is seeking to establish alternate sources to satisfy urgent requirements to support the Warfighter. There is no requirement for backwards compatibility with past or current VIS products. The VIS will be used by crewmembers in light tactical wheeled vehicles (e.g. HMMWVs and Light Trucks). The VIS must provide intercom services among 3-5 crewmembers, and interface with vehicle radio systems (e.g. SINCGARS). The VIS will be frequently used in high-noise environments and should support Active Noise Reduction (ANR) headsets (e.g. the Bose Tripo rt? Tactical Headset) and noise-canceling microphones which will provide acoustic protection to the Warfighter. The equipment must be a robust, ruggedized, stand-alone system that operates under severe environmental conditions and is highly reliable. It mu st be contractor logistically supportable for the life of the system in a wartime environment. Large and small businesses that have the capability to provide tactical VIS and associated support services for the system described above are requested to respond to this RFI. Small business is defined by North American Industry Classification System (NAI CS) Code 334290 (750 employees or less). 2. Identify what, if any, MILSPEC requirements your system currently complies with. MILSPEC compliance is strongly recommended, but will not disqualify businesses from demonstrating their product 3. This RFI is for informational purposes only and does not obligate the Government to implement or acquire any equipment or service addressed in any information received or change any acquisition strategy. This RFI does not obligate the Government for cos t reimbursement for preparation of response or product demonstration. Any further information if required will be disseminated via the Army Single Face to Industry (Interactive Business Opportunities Page). 4. Interested sources must demonstrate their systems and will have an opportunity to present their equipment individually to PM DCATS.
