Description

Vicksburg Consolidated Contracting Office intends to solicit on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 to Thomson Scientific, Inc., 3501 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104. This procurement is being conducted under Simplified Acqu isition Procedures (SAP)  only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Thompson Scientific, Inc. is the only provider of electronic access to Journal Citation Reports (JCR-S), Current Contents Connect (C CC), Web of Science (SCIE), and technology fee for ERDC users. The government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities/qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact no later than 1530 hrs Central Time Zone on 23 Jan 2006. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.
