Description
This amendment is issued to revise the combined solicitation/synopsis, and to respond to questions. The combined solicitation/synopsis is amended by changing the FOB destination point to White Sands Missile Range, NM, in lieu of Redstone Arsenal, AL ; and to add the following requirement: Copies of acceptance test procedures and test data sheets shall be provided. Response to questions: Question 1: Is it Sole Source solicitation? In the combined synopsis/solicitation it is not quite clear. Answ er: The requirement is sole source to Eagle Picher. As set forth in the synopsis, the proposed contract action is for equipment for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source, Eagle Picher Technologies. The subject batter ies have been previously qualified after undergoing significant engineering and environmental testing by AMCOM and White Sands Missile Range, and no other source is known that can provide an equivalently qualified battery. Eagle Picher is the only known s ource that produces the required qualified batteries. Question 2: Is it solicitation for the hardware (thermal battery) or for the equipment. Both terms are used in the combined synopsis/solicitation. Answer: The requirement is for 10 each Eagle Piche r Thermal Batteries, part number EAP-12217; and 20 each Eagle Picher Thermal Batteries, part number EAP-12243. Question 3: What is the DPAS Rating? Answer: The DPAS Rating is DOA2. Question 4: Are you allowed to purchase these batteries from sources other than the manufacturer? Also, how do we submit our bid? Answer: See answer to question 1. The offer due date is extended to 24 Jan 2006, 4:30 PM local time. NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO FEDBIZOPPS ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (19-JAN-2006); HOWEVER, IT DID APPEAR IN THE FEDBIZOPPS FTP FEED ON THIS DATE.
