THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL; NO SOLICITATION PACKAGE WILL BE ISSUED. However, Firms desiring consideration must submit their SF-330 Architect Engineer Qualifications by (11:00 AM CST) February 23, 2006 directly to: VA Medical Center Attn: Franklin F. Gunn, (10N7/NLO), 700 South 19th Street, Birmingham, Alabama, 35233. The SF-330 can be downloaded through the GSA Forms Library at: http://www.gsa.gov/Portal/gsa/ep/formslibrary.do , type in 330 in the Find a Form block and click on search. Provide professional Architect/Engineer (A/E) services for the complete design for Project No. 521-07-102, Electrical Switchgear Maintenance at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 700 S. 19th Street, Birmingham, Alabama. The project is to furnish design documents which should include schematics preliminary plans, working drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and construction documents (final drawings, specifications, and cost estimate). The intent of this project is to replace all protective devices/relays on the primary electrical distribution system and to perform preventive maintenance on all primary and secondary distribution switchgear, i.e.; breakers, transformers, automatic transfer switches, generators, etc. Work may also include, but is not limited to, electrical, HVAC, and fire protection. This announcement is restricted to 8(a) Competition. The A/E firm will be evaluated with the following criteria: (1) Professional Qualifications necessary for satisfactory performance of required services, (2) Specific Experience and Technical competence in the type of work required (3) Capacity to accomplish the work in the required time, (4) Past Record of Performance on Contracts with Government Agencies. (5) Location in the general geographic area of the project and knowledge of the locality of the project. The estimated cost of this project is between $25,000.00 and $100,000.00. The NAICS Code for this procurement is 54131.
