Description
The National Park Service, Harpers Ferry Center, is soliciting proposals for the planning, design development, fabrication, and installation of interpretive media for the African Burial Ground Interpretive Center in New York, New York. In 1991, construction workers for the General Services Administration (GSA) working on a new federal building in Lower Manhattan encountered skeletal remains of individuals interred in the historic African Burial Ground, and thus began a long process of rediscovery, community involvement, research, and problem solving that accompanies planning for a treatment of this sensitive historic resource. The interpretive media will include research, overall exhibit planning, design development, fabrication, and installation of indoor exhibits, and a 15-minute audiovisual production for the African Burial Ground Interpretive Center. This project requires an intimate knowledge of African American history and culture and experience working with diverse communities representing multiple points of view. Funds are not presently available for award of this solicitation. In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation clause 52.232-18 entitled "Availability of Funds", the Government's obligation under this solicitation is contingent upon the availability of appropriated funds. No legal liability on the part of the Government may arise until funds are made available to the Contracting Officer for award of this solicitation. Should funds become available for award of this solicitation, the Government anticipates award of one Firm-Fixed-Priced contract. The Solicitation will be available via Electronic Commerce on or about February 6, 2006. No paper copies of the solicitation will be issued. Questions regarding this solicitation should be directed to Dee Dee Dinges, Procurement Technician, National Park Service, Harpers Ferry Center, Office of Acquisition Management, P.O. Box 50, 230 Zachary Taylor Street, Harpers Ferry, WV 25425 or via E-Mail at dee_dee_dinges@nps.gov. THIS SOLICITATION IS TOTALLY SET-ASIDE FOR SMALL BUSINESS CONCERNS UNDER NAICS CODE 339999, ENTITLED "ALL OTHER MISCELLANEOUS MANUFACTURING," WITH A SIZE STANDARD OF 500 EMPLOYEES.
