Description
THIS ACTION IS BEING CONSIDERED FOR A TOTAL HUBZONE SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE (Details Below). Prime Contractors who are HUBZone small businesses and who intend to submit a bid for this solicitation MUST submit the following by e-mail to CFLContracts@fhwa.dot.gov or by telefax to 720-963-3360 for receipt by close of business (4:00 p.m. local Denver time) on February 6, 2006: (1) a positive statement of your intention to submit a bid for this solicitation as a Prime Contractor; (2) a copy of the letter from SBA stating date of HUBZone small business certification (must be obtained prior to date of this synopsis); (3) letter from bonding agent stating bonding capability, to include single and aggregate totals; and (4) listing of experience in work similar in type and scope to include contract numbers, project titles, dollar amounts, and points of contact including phone numbers. All of the above must be submitted in sufficient detail for a decision to be made on availability of interested HUBZone concerns. Failure to submit all information requested will result in a contractor being considered not interested in this solicitation. A decision on whether this will be pursued as a HUBZone small business set-aside or on an unrestricted basis will be made following the due date and posted as an amendment to this sources sought on the Federal Business Opportunity website at www.fbo.gov PROJECT DETAILS: This project consists of drainage, grading, aggregate base, and asphalt concrete surfacing on 3.03 miles of roadway in Upper Souris National Wildlife Refuge. The estimated price range is between $1,500,000 and $2,000,000. Principal work items include: lump sum contractor testing; 14,300 linear feet of soil erosion control, silt fence; 4,920 linear feet soil erosion control, sediment log; 1,400 m gallons water for dust control; 31.5 acres of clearing and grubbing; 41,000 cubic yards of roadway excavation; 14,300 cubic yards of unclassified borrow; 370 cubic yards of placed riprap (various class); 14,550 tons aggregate base; 4,800 tons hot asphalt concrete pavement; 1,465 linear feet of pipe culvert (various sizes); 15,400 cubic yards of placed conserved topsoil; 20 acres mulching, hydraulic method; along with associated surveying, staking, seeding, mulching, pavement markings, signal lighting and traffic control.
