- THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL; NO SOLICITATION PACKAGE WILL BE ISSUED. However, Firms desiring consideration must submit their SF-330 Architect Engineer Qualifications by (1:00 PM CST) February 23, 2006 directly to: VA Medical Center Attn: Franklin F. Gunn, (10N7/NLO), 700 South 19th Street, Birmingham, Alabama, 35233. The SF-330 can be downloaded through the GSA Forms Library at: http://www.gsa.gov/Portal/gsa/ep/formslibrary.do , type in 330 in the Find a Form block and click on search. Provide professional Architect/Engineer (A/E) services for the complete design for Project No. 521-07-101, C-Wing Improvements 4th & 5th Floor at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 700 S. 19th Street, Birmingham, Alabama. The project is to furnish design documents which should include schematics preliminary plans, working drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and construction documents (final drawings, specifications, and cost estimate). The intent of this project is to renovate approximately 9,000 sq ft of existing space: approximately 3,000 sq ft of space on the 4th floor of the C-Wing for a nursing unit support functions, approximately 3,000 sq ft of space on the 5th floor of the C-Wing for a nursing unit support functions, approximately 1,500 sq ft of space on the 4th floor of the A & B Wings for new patient bedrooms, and approximately 1,500 sq ft of space on the 5th floor of the A & B Wings for new patient bedrooms. Work may also include, but is not limited to, architectural, structural, electrical, HVAC, fire protection and plumbing. This announcement is restricted to 8(a) Competition. The A/E firm will be evaluated with the following criteria: (1) Professional Qualifications necessary for satisfactory performance of required services, (2) Specific Experience and Technical competence in the type of work required (3) Capacity to accomplish the work in the required time, (4) Past Record of Performance on Contracts with Government Agencies. (5) Location in the general geographic area of the project and knowledge of the locality of the project. The estimated cost of this project is between $25,000.00 and $100,000.00. The NAICS Code for this procurement is 54131.
