- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Part 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice and using the simplified acquisition procedures in FAR Part 13.5. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation, N68936-06-T-0047, is issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). The Contracts Department at Naval Air Warfare Center - Weapons Division, Point Mugu, CA, has a requirement to procure 10 each, Rackmount C-Band Ebrium Dobed Fiber Amplifier (EDFA) units, and 2 each Control Systems. Specifications are as follows: Wavelengths: 1540 to 1560nm; Input Power Range: -10 to +3dBm minimum; Output Power: >=17dBm [@ 0dbm input]; Output Stability: 0.2dB (between ?5degC and 70degC); Noise Figure: <= 5.5 dB; Fiber Connector: SC/APC; Craft Port: RS-232, DB-9, async; Craft port is to provide for adjustment of output power, gain, and set values for the alarms; Craft port is to provide for monitoring of input power, output power, gain, pump laser power, and pump laser current; Display: Input power in dBm, output power in dBm, and gain in dB; Alarms: LED's for loss of Input power, loss of output power, and over temperature; Power: -48VDC - Screw down terminal block and cable strain relief for power cable connection; Package: 19 in Rack mountable, one rack unit tall.
