Description

The US Army Test and Evaluation command intends to award a sole-source contract under the authority of FAR 6.302 with the British Corporation QinetiQ, Inc. for the requirement to provide operational testing continuing evaluation during the period 2 7-31 March 2006 for the Defense Advanced Global Positioning System Receiver (DAGR) in order to evaluate both new software and a new DAGR hardware version. The location for this requirement to be performed is at the Sennybridge Military Range, UK. The ope rational testing continuing evaluation will be a repeat of the applicable portions of a previous test performed in March 2004 by QinetiQ, Inc, in the UK. A comparative test is required using the same test bed, instrumentation, and climactic conditions as the original test. The Sennybridge Range will be required to provide range operations, including threat operations. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. This is a notice of intent to award a sole-source contract. Response t o this notice will be used to determine whether bona fide competition exists and whether a formal solicitation is appropriate. Written responses must be received in the designated contracting office within fifteen (15) calendar days after publication of t his notice. If no affirmative written responses are received within the 15 calendar days after publication of this notice, a solicitation/request for proposal will be issued to QinetiQ, Inc. A request for a solicitation will not be considered an affirmat ive response. A determination by the Government to sole-source this requirement/proposed contract, in addition to this notice, is solely within the discretion and best interest of the Government
