- The U. S. Coast Guard has decided not to set aside the acquisition for drydock repairs of the USCGC YELLOWFIN for Hubzone concerns, because only one Hubzone certified business concern complied with the requirements of the sources sought notice. The solicitation will be issued electronically on the FEDBIZOPPS web page on or about February 10, 2006 at http://www.fbo.gov/. Please sign up for the Auto Notification service to receive e-mail from FEDBIZOPPS when an action is taken under this solicitation. THIS REQUIREMENT IS A SMALL BUSINESS SET ASIDE FOR COMMERCIAL ITEMS AND WILL BE EVALUATED USING PAST PERFORMANCE AS AN EVALUATION FACTOR. Provide all labor, material and equipment necessary to perform drydock repairs to the USCGC YELLOWFIN (WPB-87319) including but not limited to the following Base and Option items: (1) Welding Repairs, (2) Clean and Inspect Fuel and Waste Oil Tanks, (3) Clean Sewage and Grey Water Collection and Holding Tanks, (4) Realign Main Engine/Reduction Gear, (5) Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Propeller Shafts, (6) Repair Shaft, (7) Straighten Shaft, (8) Inspect Water Lubricated Shaft Bearings, (9) Removing, Inspecting and Reinstalling Propellers, (10) Perform Minor Repair and Recondition of Propeller, (11) Preserve Transducer Hull Ring, (12) Overhaul and Renew Valves, (13) Removing, Inspecting and Reinstall Rudder Assemblies, (14) Preserve Forward Peak Compartment, (15) Install Slip Resistant Sheets on Main Deck Surfaces, (16) Preserve Rib Wet Notch Deck and Stern Door Interior Surfaces, (17) Draft Mark Painting and Preserve Condition ?A?, ?B?, ?C? Underwater Body, (18) Preserve Freeboard, (19) Modify and Renew Cathodic Protection System, (20) Inspect Transducer Fairing, (21) Routine Drydocking, (22) Provide Temporary Logistics, (23) Inspect Hull Plating, (24) Renew Watertight Hatch Frames, (25) Remove, Inspect and Reinstall Stern Launch Door Pivot Pins Bushings and Washers, (26) Renew Stern Tube Shaft Seal Mating Surface, (27) Renew Main Diesel Exhaust Concentric Rings (28) Composite Labor; (29) Laydays. Trained welders, who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures, shall accomplish all welding and brazing. The USCGC YELLOWFIN is an 87 Foot Patrol Boat homeported in Charleston, SC. All work will be performed at contractor's facility. The USCGC YELLOWFIN is geographically restricted from Brownsville, TX to Shallotte Inlet, NC. The performance period will be 42 calendar days with a start date on or about 1 May 2006. All reference documents are available for viewing at 300 East Main Street, Suite 500, Norfolk, VA 23510-9102. Drawings are now available on CD-ROM. The CD-ROM sets are available for all cutters and will be free of charge to contractors upon request [ten days from solicitation issuance]. MLCA must have ten (10) days advance notice to complete a CD-ROM set of drawings. The CD-ROM(s) contain WINDOWS compliant raster/vector formats (e.g.*.DWF, etc). Drawings are still available in hardcopy; however, a non-refundable charge of $150.00 is required in the form of a certified check or money order made payable to the U.S. Coast Guard for requested drawings.
