- The Federal Bureau of Prisons, Field Acquisition Office, Grand Prairie, Texas intends to make a single award, to a responsible quoter for the retrieval and processing of salmon carcasses from federal hatcheries located in the northwestern portion of the United States. Salmon carcasses shall be harvested from designated federal hatcheries and transported to a certified facility for processing into finished Ready to Cook, FDA approved salmon filets. The successful quoter shall be responsible for transportation of the filets to federal correctional facilities throughout the United States. The successful quoter shall provide all labor, facilities, materials, storage and transportation necessary to retrieve the salmon carcasses, process them into finished salmon filets and deliver them to federal correctional facilities as designated. The contract period shall consist of a base period from effective Date of Award through 12 months from effective Date of Award, and four one-year option periods for renewal at the unilateral discretion of the Government. Estimated yearly contract requirements include processing salmon carcasses into an estimated 500,000 pounds of finished, ready to cook salmon filets per year. The North American Industrial Classification (NAICS) code is 311712. The solicitation will be made available on or about March 10, 2006 and will be distributed solely through the General Services Administration?s Federal Business Opportunities web site http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. Hard copies of this solicitation will not be available as the site provides downloading instructions. All future information concerning this solicitation, including amendments, will also be distributed solely through this site. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site to ensure they have the most current information concerning this solicitation. All responsible sources are encouraged to submit a quote which will be considered. Faith-Based and Community-Based Organizations have the right to submit quotes equally with other organizations for contracts for which they are eligible. The anticipated date for receipt of quotes is April 10, 2006.
