Description
Complete Rotational Apparatus System. *Specifications for the Complete Rotational Apparatus System 1. The Complete Rotational Apparatus System is designed to work with Smart Pulley PASCO Sensor (currently on hand) and the DataStudio software. The system is designed for use in a variety of experiments and demonstrations including: angular acceleration, c onservation of energy, conservation of angular momentum, and collisions. The Complete Rotational Apparatus should have the following key features: Most Versatile Rotational System Available Stable, 4 kg Cast Iron Base Dual, Low Friction Ball Bearings The Complete Rotational System should provide a range of experiments in centripetal force, angular momentum and rotational motion. The accessories should make it an ideal tool for experiments in torques, friction, magnetic levitation and Faraday's Law. The unit should feature a cast iron base, dual ball bearings and Stainless Steel shaft. The moments of inertia are large enough to be sensed by the student when rotating the system by hand. Computer monitoring of angular velocity and a motorized drive are also possible. Typical Experiments: Rotational Inertia of Disk and Ring -- Two Axes Centripetal Force Rotational Inertia of Off-axis Disk (fixed and rotating) Conservation of Angular Momentum, Using a Point Mass Rotational Inertia of a Point Mass Conservation of Angular Momentum, Projectile Version Conservation of Angular Momentum, Using Disk and Ring Includes: Rotating platform with 4 kg cast iron base, dual ball bearings, stainless steel shaft, 3-step pulley, two rectangular sliding masses and 50 cm track on which a number of accessories may be mounted. The Rotational Inertia Accessory with a 25.4 cm diameter, 1.50 kg disk (which may be rotated on 2 axes), a 12.7 cm diameter, 1.42 kg ring and Super Pulley with support rod and adapter. The Centripetal Force Accessory with spring support and radius indicator, mass support, 3 masses and Super Pulley with Clamp.
