- Description
- The Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) intends to negotiate a contract on the basis of Other Than Full and Open Competition with Droplet Measurement Technology, 2400 Central Avenue, Ste B2, Boulder, CO 80301. The contractor shall provide an all in one cloud and aerosol particle spectrometer (CAS) that fits on a single standard PMS canister mount under an aircraft wing (requirement for small aircraft operation). The Cloud Aerosol and Precipitation Spectrometer (CAPS) is an airborne canister probe incorporating multiple instruments in one package capable of meeting the size and space requirements. A major requirement is the ability to measure scattered light in the backwards direction. For spherical particles, this allows determination of the real component of a particle's refractive index.
