- NAICS Code: 541690 The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency intends to award a sole source order using simplified acquisition procedures for the following requirement: Support for the 2005 - 2006 People, Prosperity and Planet (P3) undergraduate/graduate student design competition. The National Academy of Engineering (NAE) 500 Fifth Street, N.W. Washington, D.C. will be hosting this event. The competition and showcase will take place on the dates May 9 - 10, 2006 in Washington, D.C. The National Academy of Sciences, Academy of Engineering is uniquely qualified to provide this support. The Academies are internationally recognized as the foremost institutions of their kind in the world boasting over 2,000 Ameerican and foreign associates, of whom 170 have won Nobel Prizes. The unique role of the Academies of Science and Technology has become so essential that Congress and the White House have passed legislation and promulgated executive orders that reaffirm its mission. The NAE will provide the expertise and logistics support for evaluating project designs, providing award recommendations, provide meeting space and showcase the award winning projects. Consequently, the NAE is the only source available for coordination of this event. NO SOLICITATION OR REQUEST FOR QUOTE (RFQ) IS AVAILABLE. Notwithstanding, any organization who believes it is capable of meeting EPA's requirement as stated herein may contact the POC. Responses to this posting must be in writing. A determination not to compete the proposed Purchase Order based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
