Description

This is a Pre-Solicitation Notice: The Architect of the Capitol is soliciting proposals for the conservation and restoration of Lunettes located in Room S-127 in the U.S. Capitol Building, Washington, DC. Award will be made based on best value to the Government. Interested offerors must posses the following in order to be considered for award: 1) Key person must have a Master?s degree or seven (7) years of training and experience and must be a Professional Associate or Fellow of the American Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works, 2) Offeror must have extensive experience in the conservation of true fresco and other murals painted directly on plaster as well as experience in the consolidation of historic plaster and 3) Offerors must be able to submit before and after photographs of restoration and conservation projects that are similar in scope, size and complexity as this project and were completed within the last 10 years. The solicitation will be available in hard copy or electronically on or by February 17, 2006. Requests for hard copies must be made to Nichele C. This solicitation will be available electronically at http://www.aoc.gov/business/procure-opps.cfm on the date of issuance. INTERESTED PARTIES ARE ENCOURAGED TO DOWNLOAD THE ELECTRONIC VERSION, AS THIS WILL EXPEDITE RECEIPT OF THE SOLICITATION. The tentative date scheduled for receipt of proposals is March 17, 2006. A site visit/pre-proposal conference will be held. The solicitation will contain specific details regarding the site visit/pre-proposal date, time and location. Attendance to the site visit is MANDATORY for all offerors.
