Description
The Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City (NSWC PC) intends to issue a purchase order to Bartington Instruments Ltd., Units 5 & 10, Thorney Leys Business Park, Witney, Oxfordshire, OX28 4GG, GBR, on a sole source basis for the procurement of four each Bartington Model Grad-03-L(300 mm or less sensor spacing) Gradiometers and one each of their Grad-03- ACU Analog Correction Unit and cable assembly. These four fluxgate-type linear magnetic gradiometer sensors are required for the Portable Magnetic Sensor Project presently being performed at NSWC PC under sponsorship of the Strategic Environmental Research and Development Program (SERDP)). General Sensor Requirements: In order to be compatible with the existing portable magnetic sensor system design and operational requirements, four magnetic gradiometer sensors must be purchased. Each of the sensors to be purchased must meet the following specifications: 1. Combine two triaxial fluxgate magnetometers with their respective field-sensing axes mounted in parallel on a rigid support beam and separated by no more than 30 cm +/- 0.5 mm within an overall cylindrical package size with a diameter not to exceed 40 mm and an overall length of 40 cm or less; 2. All field-sensing outputs of the sensor should have noise levels below 20 pico-Tesla per root Hertz at 1 Hertz i.e., < 20 pT/ ?Hz @ 1 Hz); 3. All field-sensing elements? outputs should be scaled to provide an analog output voltage of +/- 2.0 volts for magnetic fields of +/- 50 micro-Tesla (50 mT), and; 4. Each magnetic gradiometer should contain a temperature sensor calibrated over a temperature range from 15 ?C to 40 ?C and provide a calibrated output of at least 10 milli-volts/degree Celsius (10 mV/?C). Award will be based on the written quotation. The anticipated award date is 16 Feb 2006. Delivery will be made to the Naval Support Activity - Panama City, Receiving Officer, Building 100, 101 Vernon Avenue, Panama City, FL 32407-7018. NAICS Code 334519 applies. SBA Size Standard is 500 empl oyees. FSC is 6695.
