- Description
- The Fleet Industrial Supply Center Norfolk, Contracting Department, Philadelphia Office, intends to solicit on a sole source basis the Armed Services YMCA (ASYMCA) of Alexandria, VA, for 1,000 nationwide memberships. These memberships will be for 6 months or 120 visits, and will allow for full access to the facility. Through the ASYMCA, the Navy Recruiting Command (NRC), Millington, TN, will have access to a nationwide network of YMCAs to prepare Naval Recruits for their Physical Screening Tests prior to shipment to basic training. The ASYMCA will be responsible for producing and distributing the serialized membership punch cards to NRC for Naval Recruit distribution. In addition, they will be responsible in the monitoring of card usage and the tracking of inventory of available cards. The ASYMCA shall act as the liaison between the Navy Recruiter, the YMCA Aquatics Director and the Recruit in identifying the appropriate YMCA facility. The nationwide network of YMCAs shall have pool facilities. These memberships will include a fitness evaluation of the recruit, full use of indoor/outdoor pool facilities, full access to fitness center, and free adult fitness classes. The acquisition will have options for an additional 9,000 nationwide memberships over a 5 year period. The Navy intends to solicit for a Firm Fixed Priced contract. This procurement is a sole source acquisition with ASYMCA, under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. ASYMCA, is the only known provider of these facilities which can be accessible on a nationwide scale. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTATIONS. The applicable NAICS code for this requirement is 624190. See Numbered Note 22.
