- Description
- This announcement constitutes a Notice of Proposed Contract Action. The 330th Tactical Airlift Support Group, Airlift Support Wing, Warner Robins Air Logistics Center (WR-ALC), intends to acquire, on a sole-source basis, AE2100D3 engine sustainment support including spares, engineering services, data, repairs, and field support, from Rolls-Royce Corporation, Indianapolis. It is contemplated that an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity contract will be awarded in January 2006 for firm requirements with options for 9 years. Rolls-Royce is the sole designer, developer, and manufacturer of the AE2100D3, and is the only firm that possesses the necessary knowledge, experience and technical data required to perform these efforts. The government does not own the data rights for the system; therefore, to avoid duplication costs, the government intends to award the effort pursuant to the authority of 10 U.S.C 2304 (c) (1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. This synopsis is published to notify potential subcontractors that this is anticipated to be a new contract awarded on a sole-source basis. The National American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement action is 336412. Please indicate number of employees relative to the size standard of 1,500 for determination of small business status.
