Description
THIS ACTION IS BEING CONSIDERED FOR A TOTAL HUBZONE OR 8(A) SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE (Details Below). Prime Contractors who are either HUBZone small businesses or 8(a) small businesses and who intend to submit a bid for this solicitation MUST submit the following by e-mail to CFLContracts@fhwa.dot.gov or by telefax to 720-963-3360 (Attn: Brenda McGehee) for receipt by close of business (4 p.m. local Denver time) on February 13, 2006: (1) a positive statement of your intention to submit a bid for this solicitation as a Prime Contractor; (2) a copy of the letter from SBA stating date of HUBZone small business certification or acceptance to the 8(a) small business program (must be obtained prior to date of this synopsis); (3) letter from bonding agent stating bonding capability, to include single and aggregate totals; and listing of experience in work similar in type and scope of this proposed synopsis. All of the above must be submitted in sufficient detail for a decision to be made on availability of interested HUBZone or 8(a) concerns. Failure to submit all information requested will result in a contractor being considered not interested in this solicitation. A decision on whether this will be pursued as a HUBZone or 8(a) small business set-aside or on an unrestricted basis will be made following the due date and posted as an amendment to this sources sought on the Federal Business Opportunity website at www.fbo.gov PROJECT DETAILS: This project consists of grading, drainage, retaining walls, and asphalt surfacing on 29.832 kilometers of roadway in Colorado National Monument. The estimated price range is between $5,000,000 and $7,000,000. 29.830 kilometers of centerline verification and staking; lump sum contractor testing; 1,590 m3 of subexcavation; 1.710 m3 unclassified borrow (contractor furnished) 112 m2 mechanically stabilized earth wall; 12,500 m2 ditch reconditioning; 2,430 metric tons roadway aggregate, method 2; 1,700 metric tons asphalt cement grade PG 64-28; 285 metric tons antistrip additive type 3; 28,300 metric tons superpave asphalt concrete pavement; 230,600 m2 foamed asphalt stabilized base course; 2,310 metric tons asphalt binder; 770 metric tons cement; 2,000 m colored Portland cement concrete curb; 600 m guardrail system G4, type 4, class A; 640 m3 furnishing and placing topsoil; traffic control 2,800 hours; along with associated erosion control; removal of boulders, trees, signs, pipe culverts, guardrail, asphalt pavement; roadway obliteration, and pipe culverts.
