- The National Park Service intends to issue Prospectus A and Prospectus B for the operation of guided mountaineering and other guided snow and glacier based activities at Mount Rainier National Park. There will be a total of three separate Contracts awarded through these Prospectuses, one under Prospectus A and two under Prospectus B. The existing Concession Contract between the National Park Service and the existing Concessioner expires on December 31, 2006, or until such time as a new Concession Contract is awarded, whichever occurs first. The Director, pursuant to 36 CFR Part 51, has determined that the existing Concessioner is a preferred Offeror for the Contract to be awarded under Prospectus A because they are a qualified outfitter and guide service. There is no preferred Offeror for the two Contracts to be awarded under Prospectus B. The length of the new Contract will be for ten (10) years. Any offer, including that of the existing Concessioner, must be received by the Concessions Program Manager, National Park Service, Pacific West Region, 1111 Jackson Street, Suite 700, Oakland, CA 94607 no later than ninety (90) days after the date of publication of this notice in order to be evaluated and considered for an award of a Concession Contract. Both Prospectuses will be issued February 3, 2006, for a 90-day response period under the terms described in each Prospectus, with proposals due on May 4, 2006, no later than 4:00 p.m. There is a printing cost recovery charge of $75 per set to be delivered via Federal Express or $60 per copy if picked up in person. Checks or money orders (no cash accepted) must be payable to the National Park Service; and you must include a business address (no post office box) to receive a Federal Express package.
