Description

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) has a requirement for seeking scientific knowledge and biological data for the National Biological Information Infrastructure (NBII). This knowledge and content is needed in support of the continued development of the NBII network of Regional and Thematic Nodes. The National Biological Information Infrastructure (NBII) serves as an electronic gateway to biological data and information products maintained by federal, state, and local government agencies; non-government institutions; and private sector organization in the United Sates and around the world. The USGS NBII Program is: 1) seeking to expand it's scientific biocomplexity data holdings related to biological data, metadata, web-sites, images, publications, gray literature, etc. 2) continue the peer review, editorial, scientific solicitation, and management functions for the electronic journal for Sustainability Science, Practice, and Policy and 3) continue the development, peer review, and maintenance of terms contained and being considered for additions to the Biocomplexity thesaurus. These functions are all to be performed using NBII tools, standards, and data delivery processes/practices. Concerns having the ability to furnish the services described herein are REQUIRED to give written or faxed notification (including telephone number for a point of contact) to the procuring office above within fifteen (15) calendar days from the date of the synopsis. Failure to provide notice will result in firms not having access to Solicitation No. 06HQCN0004.
