Description
THIS ACTION IS BEING CONSIDERED FOR A TOTAL HUBZONE SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE (Details Below). Prime Contractors who are HUBZone small businesses and who intend to submit a bid for this solicitation MUST submit the following by e-mail to CFLContracts@fhwa.dot.gov or by telefax to 720-963-3360 (Attn: Brenda McGehee) for receipt by close of business (4 p.m. local Denver time) on February 13, 2006: (1) a positive statement of your intention to submit a bid for this solicitation as a Prime Contractor; (2) a copy of the letter from SBA stating date of HUBZone small business certification (must be obtained prior to date of this synopsis); (3) letter from bonding agent stating bonding capability, to include single and aggregate totals; and listing of experience in work similar in type and scope of this proposed synopsis. All of the above must be submitted in sufficient detail for a decision to be made on availability of interested HUBZone concerns. Failure to submit all information requested will result in a contractor being considered not interested in this solicitation. A decision on whether this will be pursued as a HUBZone small business set-aside or on an unrestricted basis will be made following the due date and posted as an amendment to this sources sought on the Federal Business Opportunity website at www.fbo.gov PROJECT DETAILS: This project consists of pulverizing grading, aggregate base, concrete curb, gutter, and sidewalk asphalt surfacing and drainage on 5.06 miles in Great Sand Dunes National Park, Alamosa County, Colorado. The estimated price range is between $1,000,000 and $3.5,000,000. MAJOR WORK ITEMS INCLUDE: lump sum survey and staking of parking area; lump sum contractor testing; 11,000 sq yd special clearing and grubbing; lump sum removal of structures and obstructions; 1,700 cu yd embankment construction; 210 cu yd placed riprap; 2,000 ln ft ditch excavation; 103,000 sq yd pulverizing; 500 cu yd roadway aggregate; 17,000 tons superpave pavement; 170 tons antistrip additive; 110 tons prime coat grade CSS-1, CSS-1H, SS-1, or SS-1H; 1,510 tons blotter; 220 tons tack coat grade CSS-1, CSS-1H, SS-1, or SS-1H; 170 ln ft arch of elliptical pipe culvert (various size); 74 ln ft drainage chase; 23 ea cleaning culvert in place; 3,400 ln ft concrete curb and gutter; 1,800 sq yd concrete sidewalk; 14,500 sq yd furnishing and placing topsoil; 360 gal pavement markings; 57 ea sign system; along with associated erosion control, removal of pipe end sections, signs, concrete curb and gutter, asphalt curb and pavement, roadway obliteration; traffic control and temporary makings.
