All Garments submitted should incorporate commercially available innovative garment design and fabric performance to provide comfort, functionality and durability. Advanced performance technologies such as garment/fabric ?systems? a plus, and incorporation of Fiber/finish Nanotechnology is also highly desirable. Important features to be considered are: Physical properties such as exemplary tensile and tear strength, the ability to wick & transmit vapor, repel water, resist staining, abrasion & air permeation. Strong color performance properties to minimize Crocking, CF to light, color change after laundering and Perspiration staining are desired. Priorities include reduction in overall weight, noise, and durability to repeated home launderings. The use of anti-microbial agents is also beneficial. Lining should address factors such as moisture management/breath ability, abrasion resistance, stretch ability, and optimal comfort as it will be worn closest to the skin. Current suit is used across varied climates. In addition trunks may be used for swimming in some cases, so resistance to salt & chlorine are also factors for consideration. Finished garments should be the same or similar in appearance/design to current specs (referenced above). Any available industry advancements in reflective technology are desired to optimize visibility/safety, and should be incorporated. Interested parties must submit finished garment prototypes along with complete technical data information including but not limited to the tests listed below.
