Description

This is a pre-solicitation notice to synopsize the fire suppression maintenance requirement for the US Air Force Academy, Colorado. The contractor shall provide the personnel, vehicles, equipment, tools, supplies, parts (under $30), supervision and other items or services necessary to maintain the kitchen area wet/dry chemical fire suppression systems on the Academy. Work includes inspection, testing, certification, service and repair for the approximately twenty five (25) Ansul R-102 restaurant type systems. A provision for a 2 hour on-call emergency response is incorporated. The supervisor and all employees shall be certified by Ansul, and use Ansul replacement parts. Additionally, employees shall have at least five (5) years experience inspecting and maintaining kitchen exhaust and wet/dry chemical fire suppression systems. The contractor shall be fully capable of performing all electrical work in maintaining and repairing wet/dry chemical fire suppression systems, and auxiliary equipment such as local alarms and components for automatic shutdown of heat producing cooking equipment. The supervisor and all personnel who work on the extinguishing systems shall hold a NICET I certification. The performance period is projected from 1 Apr 06 ? 30 Sep 06, plus four one-year option periods that may be exercised by the government. Solicitation is set aside for total small business. Applicable NAICS code is 561621. Offers will be evaluated by price. All contractors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) and On-line Representations and Certifications (ORCA) to receive award. It is anticipated that the request for bid will be issued on or about 24 Feb 06, and will be available by Internet only. Sealed bid will be the method of vendor response.
