Description

THIS SOLICITATION IS OPEN TO ALL FIRMS AUTHORIZED TO PERFORM WITHIN JAPAN THE TYPE OF CONSTRUCTION WORK SPECIFIED IN THIS SOLICITATION. SPECIFICALLY, AN OFFEROR MUST BE DULY AUTHORIZED TO OPERATE AND DO BUSINESS IN JAPAN AND MUST FULLY COMPLY WITH A LL LAWS, DECREES, LABOR STANDARDS, AND REGULATIONS OF JAPAN DURING PERFORMANCE OF THE CONTRACT. IN ADDITION, PRIOR TO AWARD OF THE CONTRACT, OFFERORS MUST BE REGISTRED WITH THE GOVERNMENT OF JAPAN TO DO CONSTRUCTION WORK IN JAPAN AND POSSESS NECESSARY CON STRUCTION LICENSES AND PERMITS REQUIRED TO PERFORM THE WORK REQUIRED UNDER THIS SOLICITATION. Work consists of upgrade of wharf, which includes construction of a new high quality water plant, new electrical substations, new seawall, and other various addi tions and/or relocations of existing support facilities. Construction shall also include improving the entrance and exists to the berths with new security fences, new lighting, new pavement and additional antiterrorism force protections features. The con struction shall include improvements and relocation of existing utilities such as sewer lines, waterlines, fire protection systems and communications systems. The estimated cost of the contract is between 2,500,000,000 Japanese Yen and 10,000,000,000 Japa nese Yen. The solicitation will be issued on or about 23 February 2006.
