Description
This is a REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) (not a pre-solicitation notice pursuant to FAR Part 5). The Social Security Administration (SSA) is seeking to identify sources for the purchase of water treatment chemicals and service associated with said chemicals for the Social Security Administration located in Baltimore, MD. (SSA Main Complex). The SSA is currently conducting market research only. No award is intended as a result of this synopsis nor does the Government intend to pay for information received. Any interested contractors will need to provide a continuous monitoring controller capable of direct measurement and control of corrosion and scale inhibitor in open recirculating water, a system to intermittently feed chemicals of all varieties to the closed loop water systems, provide boiler feed water treatment from solution tank to the feed water system and provide oxygen scavenger from solution tank to the feed water or the deaeration tank as appropriate. Oxygen scavenger may be included in the boiler feed water treatment solution as an ?all-in-one? treatment as long as scavenger levels are maintained. All chemicals proposed for use at our facility will need to be verified as acceptable for use in the State of Maryland and must be approved by our facility. Chemicals used for water treatment must comply with all United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Department Of Transportation (DOT) requirements, including packaging and labeling. The contractor will need to provide a 24-hour emergency response hotline number to respond to chemical emergencies. The contractor must have a minimum of 2 years experience in the water treatment industry or related field. The contractor?s organization must be ISO 9002 certified in chemical manufacturing and laboratory analysis. A contractor?s representative will need to be on-site once a week to conduct water testing, system improvements, and troubleshooting concerns as needed. SSA is interested in receiving information with regard to the water treatment capabilities of small businesses. The NAICS Code for this procurement will be 325181 with its associated small business size standard of 1,000 employees. The SSA has approximately nine (9) buildings within the main campus area that need the water treatment. Offerors should submit statements or other descriptive data that describes their abilities to assist us in our water treatment efforts. Submissions shall be accepted via email at the following address rick.bolt@ssa.gov or by mail to the address shown below. Questions regarding this RFI should be directed to the above-mentioned point of contact via email only.
