Description
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is seeking competent and qualified Small Business construction contractors interested in providing offers for the construction and installation of an Instrument Landing System (ILS localizer antenna array and Glide Slope (GS) for Runway 30L, William P. Hobby Airport, Houston, Texas. The scope of work will consist of, but is not limited to, all construction necessary (per requirements of project design specification and plans) for installation of an ILS to serve Runway 30L. The ILS will consist of a Localizer Antenna Array and Glide Slope (GS). ??Remove existing 14-element antenna and store at FAA storage area near site. ??Remove existing concrete pier foundations. Install new concrete slab foundation. ??Install Government Furnished Material (GFM) including control, Heliax cables from new antenna array to shelter. ??Install and terminate power cables, contractor furnished. ??Install Government Furnished Material (GFM) 14-element localizer array. Electronics personnel will install dipoles. ??Compact soil at array site. Install cement stabilized road base around antenna array foundation ??Install #4/0 bare copper counterpoise around new array and shelter cad-welded to ground rods. ??Remove and dispose of existing 8' x12'fiberglass shelter. Install, new GFM 10' x 16' fiberglass shelter. ??Install approximately 600' of control cable. ??Install 3' x 3' x 3' manhole at location and splice control cable to existing cable. Glide Slope ??Disconnect existing power, remove existing 8' x 12' shelter. Remove existing foundation. Dispose of existing shelter. ??Install, new GFM 10' x 16' fiberglass shelter. ??Install a new GFM GS tower, 1 new 3" conduit between tower and shelter, Obstruction light conduit, power circuits and terminations. ??Install new Contractor furnished safety climb cable. Contractor to provide a 45' Lad-Saf Flexible Cable System from DBI Sala. ??Install 3' x 3' x 8"Stainless Steel demark cabinet on unistrut rack at shelter. ??Restore unpaved or crushed aggregate covered, affected areas by compacting soil and reseeding to match surrounding areas for both ILS site and GS. Work within the safety area, shall be coordinated with the Airport through the Resident Engineer (RE). The contractor is, expected to perform at least 20% of the work, using its own employees. Contract performance time: 40 calendar days.
