They must be capable of withstanding the launch acceleration of a Sidewinder missile. The second option is a smooth motor with no launch shoes, fin clips, or electrical fittings on the! side of the case. SPECIFICATIONS: The motors must have the following equivalents to tactical MK36 for the first 0.30 seconds (chamber and nozzle exit). Motors must meet the prescribed tolerances: 1) Pressure vs. Time: compare rise rate (plus or minus 5 percent) and peak pressure (plus or minus 5 percent). 2) Mass Flow Rate: calculated based on measured pressure vs. time (plus or minus 7 percent). 3) Chemical composition: calculated from reactants using chemical equilibrium and compared to same calculation for MK36 (plus or minus 5 percent). 4) Temperature vs. time: calculated using chemical equilibrium and compared to same calculation for MK36 (plus or minus 5 percent absolute temperature, Rankine or Kelvin). Measured thrust can be used in the above calculations to verify exit plane values. It is anticipated that this solicitation will be released on 28 February 2006.
