- Description
- The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has a requirement for the acquisition of various Vega Airport Frangible poles. The FAA intends to solicit and negotiate only with Jaquith Industries, Inc., Syracuse, New York, in accordance with Acquisition Management System (AMS) Policy 3.2.2.4, Single Source Selection. These frangible poles are required in support of the Airport Surface Detection Equipment-Model X (ASDE-X) system. The ASDE-X system provides seamless surveillance coverage of the airport surface and identification to air traffic controllers. Jaquith Industries, Inc is the only known source that manufactures the low-impact resistant structures used to support lights of approach lighting systems. In addition, Jaquith Industries, Inc is the only known source whose configuration interchanges with the ASDE-X system and is approved to FAA specification FAA-E-2702, Low-Impact Resistant Structures. The FAA conducted a market survey and the results of this survey support our determination to solicit and negotiate with only one firm. This announcement is for informational purposes only, not a request for proposals.
