- Provide A/E services to include Phase I and Phase II site investigation and design development and IH services, drawings & specifications, cost estimates, construction period services and site visits to renovate psychiatric ward 59A. This project affects the delivery of psychiatric healthcare services at the VAMC Coatesville, PA. The proposed initiative involves the renovation of 23,925 sq ft of interior space, service equipment and related support systems in building 59, floor A. The renovated floor will be configured to serve three (3) separate patient populations within a long-term care setting for the seriously mentally ill (SMI) and will enhance services to female patients through the addition of private female bedrooms and bathrooms. In addition, this project will improve space management, enhance life-safety code compliance and upgrade electrical and other utility systems. Gero-psychiatric beds currently housed in other areas will be consolidated into Bldg. 59A to create a 44 bed floor with both private and semi-private rooms. The new work will create total handicap assessibility, including handrails, door openers, thresholds and grab bars. Fire alarm and sprinkler systems will be upgraded. New plexiglass nurses station and mini sub-station to be added. Create a total privacy concept, including a day room, exhaust/supply system and seclusion room upgrades. All work shall be in compliance with ADA requirements and shall meet all applicable VA criteria, building codes, life safety codes and national electric codes. The estimated construction budget is between $2 and $5 million. The area for consideration for this acquisition is restricted to firms within a 100 mile radius of the VAMC, Coatesville, PA. Interested firms must submit two (2) copies of SF330 with appropriate documentation and information to the Contracting Officer (542/90C), VAMC, 1400 Black Horse Hill Rd., Coatesville, PA 19320 by 4:00PM on March 13, 2006.
