- The Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City (NSWC PC) has a requirement for thirty (30) MK-105 MOD 4 Fuel Sensors. The MK-105 MOD 4 Magnetic Minesweeping System, hereafter referred to as the MK-105 MOD 4, is an upgrade of the MK-105 MOD 2 Magnetic Minesweeping System that is currently used in the Fleet. The system is a remotely controlled, helicopter-towed platform used in Airborne Mine Countermeasures (AMCM). It is designed to provide a reliable and safe method of detonating influence mines. The contractor shall provide thirty (30) MK 105 Mod 4 fuel sensors that meet the following specifications. Mechanical Specifications: Three level float sensor activating three magnetic reed switches On hysteresis: +/-0.2? Off hysteresis: +/-0.3? Float overtravel: 0.15? Float operating temperature: -4oF to 249oF Float chemical resistance to JP-4, JP-5 Levels measured from sensor flange: Full 11.4?, Low 19.9?, Empty 22.8? Float calibration: Floatation level of float in JP-4 Sg. = 0.75-0.78 Ability to operate in contaminated fuel with maximum particle size of 250 microns Weight not to exceed 3.5 pounds. Mounting flange diameter = 3.54? Mounting flange bolt holes: 7 x .224/.216 diameter holes spaced 48o on 2.650? B.C. (leaves 72o space between two holes to allow for feedthrough cable) Feedthrough cable protector to prevent damage from accidental stepping on or kicking Sensor tube length (from mounting flange to end): 24.8? Slosh guard tube: 1.75? diameter, 6 x 0.25? diameter holes spaced 3? from center with the exception of the bottom and top holes 1.5? from perspective end to center. Materials: Sensor head: 316 SS Sensor head cover: 316 SS Head cover legs: 316 SS Sensor bushing: 316 SS Sensor tube: 316 SS Bushing cone: 304 SS Slosh guard tube: 321 seamless SS 0.028? thick Sensor tube plug: 304 SS Slosh guard tube bottom plate: 304 SS Sensor cover fastener: #10x32 304 SS Cable feedthrough: Raychem TCFS-12, operating temperature ?112oF to 176oF Connecting cable : M-27500-20ML4T08 Heat shrink: Raychem NTFR, entire length of connecting cable Sensor head seal: Epoxy Grip ring: ?? external, beryllium copper Floats: CelconTM acetal copolymer, operating temperature ?4oF to 239oF Float stops: SS Sensor PCB: 0.062 FR4 UL/MIL spec.
