Description

POINT OF CONTACT FOR THIS SOLICITATION IS MR. GEORGE RUSH AT 251/694-3715; FAX: 251/694-4264. THIS PROJECT IS ADVERTISED ON AN UNRESTRICTED BASIS PURSUANT TO THE SMALL BUSINESS COMPETITIVE DEMONSTRATION PROGRAM (OPEN TO EVERYONE). THE NORTH AMERICAN INDUSTRY CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM (NAICS) CODE FOR THIS PROJECT IS 237990. In general, work will consist of the following: Rental of Hopper Dredge with Attendant Plant and Operators for Maintenance Dredging of approximately 1,500,000 cys in navigation channels in Mobile Harbor. The work will consist of removal and satisfactory di sposal of material lying above the plane of 52 feet (or as directed by the Contracting Officers Authorized Representative). Excavated material will be transported and deposited into the Gulf Open Water D/A. Hopper dredge should be complete with all necessary materials, supplies, labor, and transportation including fuel, power, and water for excavation operations. Note: The above general outline of the work does not in any way limit the responsibility of the Contractor to perform all work and furnish all plant, labor, equipment and materials required by the specifications and the drawings referred to therein. Estim ated cost range of the project is from $1,000,000 to $5,000,000. Solicitation documents will be available on or around 15 February 2006. Mr. Leo J. Hickman is Contracting Officer for this project. NOTES: 1. EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY; the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District, is implementing a new procedure for posting all NEW solicitations.
