- Description
- The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, Panama City, Florida, is seeking sources to provide block and tackle personnel hoist systems. The equipment will be used to lift a single, fully outfitted firefighter from an escape trunk during actual casualties and during frequent training exercises. The equipment may be exposed to contaminants typical of a shipboard environment, including seawater, fuel, petroleum-based lubricants, and firefighting agents such as aqueous film forming foam (AFFF). Characteristics of the hoist system shall be as follows: (1) the equipment must resist accelerated degradation due to exposure to contaminants typical of a shipboard environment, including seawater, fuel, petroleum-based lubricants, and firefighting agents such as aqueous film forming foam (AFFF); (2) the mechanical advantage will be 4:1 (minimum); (3) the span of the Hoist Line is 50 to 65 feet working range; and (4) the Load Capacity shall be 300 lbs normal work load. Interested firms shall respond with brief documentation showing the company's ability to fulfill the requirements described above. Only prime contractors should respond. A list of responding prime contractors will be furnished to potential subcontractors upon request.
