Description
The U.S. Geological Survey's (USGS) announcement which was posted on February 6, 2006 is hereby amended to provide the following information. The NAICS code is 511210. The general scope of the proposed contract is that the Contractor shall provide the USGS Biocomplexity-relevant data and information and make this information freely available to the NBII Nodes, the general public, scientific communities, government agencies, and resource managers. The following specific projects are to be performed under the proposed contract: (a) Biocomplexity Thesaurus - Support will be required related to: (1) review of "new" terms and concepts provided by NBII Partners Quarterly; (2) delivery of updated thesaurus and all associated terms quarterly to the NBII Program Quarterly; (3) participation by the Contractor Thesaurus expert in NBII terminology and vocabulary related meetings, conferences and work plans; (b) Cataloged Datasets & Web Resources - Specific Tasks included per Year are: (1) monthly delivery of Resources or datasets to the NBII; (2) adherence to NBII Dublin Code standards including: full use of the NBII/Contractor Biocomplexity Thesaurus and delivery of records in MXL standards; (3) datasets cataloged by the Contractor to meet the NBII definition of datasets and their scope; (c) delivery of Electronic Journal (E-Journal) for Sustainability Sciences; and (d) Participation in NBII Meetings and Conferences. The Contractor that provides these services will have to meet the following minimum criteria: (1) Access to existing data holdings in the biodiversity, environmental, and other related sciences and (2) Capability of providing records based on the Dublin Core cataloging standard related to high priority thematic and geographical areas of interest to the USGS. Services may be performed at the contractors location.
