NOTE: THIS IS A PRE-SOLICIITATION ANNOUNCEMENT AND IS FOR INFORMATION ONLY The Request for Proposal # N1790060020 and all associated amendments will be available on or about March 13, 2006 and be posted on this site. NAICS 541990 All other professional, scientific and technical services. The contract is for a conservation condition survey and treatment of the original books at the Home of Franklin D. Roosevelt, Hyde Park, NY. The contractor will survey the approximately 2950 books, write condition report and treatment proposal only for those books needing hands-on treatment and repair (estimated to be approximately 25% of the books, evaluate damage in the library from moisture, mold, and pests and devise mitigation procedures, and write a brief final report. The contractor will also provide a brief and more general assessment of the periodical collection (about 1150 items). Award will be made on Phase I (conduct survey and prepare treatment proposal) Phase II will be the work of the treatment as proposed. The option of Phase II will be exercised by modification to the original award/contract dependant upon evaluation of both conservation and curatorial priorities and the availability of funds. The work of the treatment of the periodicals will not be considered as part of this contract.
