Description

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to issue a Order under NAVAIR Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) N00019-05-G-0026 to procure the retrofit install of the Advance Mission Computer (AMC) Type III into F/A-18 Lots 26-29; Fiber Channel Network Switch (FCNS) into F/A-18 Lot 26, F/A-18E Lots 27-29, and F/A-18F Lot 27; 8X10 into F/A-18 Lot 26 and F/A-18F Lot 27; Digital Video Map Computer (DVMC) into F/A-18 Lot 26, F/A-18E Lot 27 and F/A-18F Lot 27 Aircraft F103-107; and Active Electronically Steered Array (AESA) into F/A-18 Lot 26, F/A-18E Lot 27-29, F/A-18F Lot 27 Aircraft F103-127, F/A-18F Lot 28 Aircraft 136-140, 142,143,145,147-149,151,153,155,156, and F/A-18F Lot 29 Aircraft F163-167. NAVAIR intends to negotiate this Order on a sole source basis with McDonnell Douglas Corporation (MDC), a Wholly Owned Subsidiary of The Boeing Company, St. Louis, MO 63166-0516. MDC is the sole designer, developer, manufacturer and supplier of the F/A-18 Weapon System, and only MD has the F/A-18 peculiar engineering data, capability, resources and expertise required to perform NAVAIR's requirements.
