Description
The Marine Corps Systems Command, Quantico, Virginia seeks sources and information for planning tools and computer software that can perform thermal analyses and heating-ventilation-and-cooling (HVAC) assessments for military tactical environmental equipment sizing. Military requirements are different from commercial systems, and a capability that can account for the following is solicited: hard (metallic, composite, wood, other) and soft shelters (tents); round, square and oblique shapes; environmental conditions (solar loading, wind, ambient temperature, precipitation, etc.); heating, cooling and dehumidification modes of operation; and installation methods (split systems, unit systems, vehicle mounted, etc). Based on user inputs for the above parameters, a software planning tool is desired that can provide a recommended thermal load (BTU/per hour), airflow (cubic feet per minute), and anticipated electrical draw (kilowatts).Responses will be reviewed to identify products potentially capable of fulfilling the Governments requirements. This sources-sought/Request For Information (RFI) is for planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a Request For Proposal or as an obligation on the part of the Government to acquire follow-on acquisition.
