- Description
- The Bureau of Labor Statistics is considering replacement of our production color printer and is seeking information on technology which will meet the following requirements for high quality color printing. (1) Input Capabilities: Scanner with 100 page capacity. Automatic duplexing from all trays (a minimum paper weight of 110 LB Index). Secondary Feeder Module: 4,000 Sheets. (2) Output Capabilities: Offsetting Output Tray: 500 sheets with automatic offsetting. (3) Finishing Capabilities: Binder. System must allow addition of any supporting third party finishing device (i.e. Booklet Maker) (4) Finishing Options: Booklet Maker, Scorer and Perforator, Trifolder, Sticher. (5) Performance: Print Speed of no less than 70 pages per minute (8-1/2 x 11, 16lb bond to 90 lb text) and no less than 4,200 full process color (8-1/2 x 11) impressions per hour. (6) Paper Handling: Paper Sources: 4 trays, 2 of which must have 2,000 sheet capacity (each). Automatic Tray Switching. (7) Paper Specifications: Media Types include coated paper: dull, gloss, matte, silk and litho. Uncoated paper. Specialty stock: business card, labels, cut tabs, recycled, perforated, and transparencies. Paper weight varies from 16 lb. bond to 45 lb. text to 110 lb. cover stock. Minimum paper size: 7.2? x 7.2?. Maximum paper size: 12.6? x 19.2?. Maximum imagable area: 12.4? x 18.9?. Maximum color coverage: Full-bleed output on 12" x 18". (8) Color Server: The printer must have network connectivity. BLS uses an Ethernet network and runs Windows 2003 servers. The printer must have the ability to disable any unnecessary services, including FTP, SNMP, HTTP, TELNET, and IPP. Not having this ability will disqualify a proposed print solution. (9) Include physical specifications with response (such as required footprint area, height, clearance.) The printer is in a HVAC and humidity controlled environment. Power is available in 110 or 220 as required by the replacement printer.
