Description

The U.S. Army Research Development and Engineering Command Acquisition Center (RDECOMAC) Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD has a requirement to obtain 100 NightHunter and 463 of the NighthunterII Ultra High Intensity Illumination Systems to Xenonics, Inc., 2236 Rutherford Road, Suite 123, Carlsbad, California 92008. The Xenonics NightHunter and NighthunterII are a High Intensity Illumination Systems. The NightHunter is capable of illuminating an area up to 1,900 with the white light and 1,100 yards with a n IR filter. The NightHunterII is smaller, lighter, and easier to carry and is capable of illuminating an area up to 1,100 yards with white light and 800 yards away with the IR filter. This allows Soldiers to identify possible threats, non combatants or friendly forces while maintaining a safe stand off distance during operations in the Global War on Terrorism (GWOT). The Xenonics NightHunter/NighthunterII Ultra-High Intensity Illumination Systems are the only known solution that is readily available. N o effort will be made to obtain competition for this procurement due to Congressional direction and funding. This requirement will be publicized in the FedBizOps and any interest sources will be solicited.
